Who’s going to win in November? Who Cares - who’s got the better website?

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

As we near closer to November the race for president is really heating up. My question isn’t who you’re going to vote for, but who has the better website? I know which one I like, but I want to know which one you like.

Why I hate politics.

As Americans we’re expected to work hard, earn an income. We’re then supposed to use that income to pay our bills, pay our debt, cover our needs, buy things we want, save for emergencies, and tuck away for our future. If we choose to help out others we can do so using charities. When times get tough we’re not supposed to dig ourselves deep into debt, we can’t go to our employers and make them give us more money. If times get tough we’re often forced not to give to charity.

Why does our government operate differently? If you want to pay for one thing that you didn’t budget for, then you have to take that money from something else. You can’t go to the American people and raise taxes, and you can’t just keep going into debt.

Politics is destroying our country. Irresponsible people are destroying our country. If you want to pay for Iraq, then cut money some where else, I suggest you start with salaries in Washington. If you want to pay for social programs, more power to you, you have to cut somewhere though.

It really doesn’t matter, Republican or Democrat, they’re both all about making the government bigger, getting more of our money. Don’t let the Republican rhetoric of cutting taxes fool you, because they’re a) taking money from the states which are requiring us to pay higher state taxes, or b) going deeper into debt which we’re going to have to pay back with interest. Likewise, don’t think that we can just abandon Iraq after we broke it - my dad used to tell me, “you break it, you buy it”. We bought that one. You also can’t put much faith in social programs that have failed over and over again.

Alright, my short political statement is done. I’ll try not to do it again.
